About About the Lithuanian Obesity Association

Fighting Obesity for a Healthier Future

Welcome to the Lithuanian Obesity Association, where science, enthusiasm and activism are intertwined to tackle one of today’s biggest public health challenges. It is founded and led by a team of dedicated experts who are committed to fighting the stigma of obesity. We emphasise that obesity is a disease that requires adequate treatment and management.

Our association serves as a knowledge, research and support centre, bringing together practitioners, researchers and people from a wide range of disciplines with a common goal: tackling the complex issue of obesity.

As an organisation, we are committed to advancing the field of obesity research, sharing our insights and fostering collaboration both nationally and internationally. Through education programmes, activism and community involvement, we aim to empower people to make informed decisions and take control of their health.

Join us on our journey towards a healthier Lithuania, where the burden of obesity will be lighter and the well-being of our citizens brighter. Together, we can build a future where obesity is better understood, prevented and managed with adequate treatments.

Living a healthy lifestyle, being healthy is very important for everyone. Many people think that to be healthy you need to ‘follow a diet’, ‘exercise’ and this often causes internal tension – a feeling of dissatisfaction. My main goal is for both a healthy and a sick person to continue to enjoy life, and healthy living skills should be developed according to their needs and hobbies.
